Continuing their Silver Jubilee Year Celebrations, the sporty batch of 1991 yet again showed their sporting spirit. After donating the international quality hockey sticks in April, they donated 50 international quality soccer balls to the school on 5th August, 2016. The precedence being set by the Batch of 1991 will be an example for every Silver Jubilee Batch year on year.
A day before the Presentation Ceremony the Batch of 1991 presented a Soccer Ball to the Principal of the school at her office. She was all praises for the effort of the 1991 batch.
The chief Guest for the occasion of the Presentation Ceremony was a retired Sports and Mathsteacher of the school, Mr Alfred Singh. Mr Singh served in the school from 1962 to 2002 and looked fit as ever. Some Old Boys were also present to grace the occasion.
After handing over a soccer ball to the school soccer Captain, Vikram Vardan, Mr Singh took the Ceremonial penalty kick and scored.
The event was followed by some of the old boys taking a penalty shot each. The Old Boys managed to convert 3 of their five chances.
The celebrations ended with a vote of thanks by the batch representative of 1991, Mr Gurjyot Singh. A memento was presented to the school sports teacher, Sanjeev Rana.
The Chief Guest was then accompanied to the WOBS office for some tea and refreshments. Mr Alfred Singh was presented a memento before he took leave.
Everyone had a great time and were looking forward to the Rio Olympics…
